Get to Know Alpa
People often inquire about my journey into this particular business. I established this company out of a genuine love for the art of delighting people with food. While many restaurants believe that flavor must come from fat, I aimed to challenge that notion. My goal was to create healthy yet delicious rice bowls that could be customized to suit any diet without compromising on quality and, above all, taste.

My mother and aunts have been my major influencers throughout my culinary adventures, which began in childhood. As an annoyingly overhelpful child, I always lent a hand in the kitchen. My mother, in particular, took great pleasure in preparing hearty meals for her loved ones. She passed on her hospitality, warmth, and nurturing nature to me, and I hope to pass it on to my daughter as well. Having lived in various places, I have drawn inspiration from diverse influences.

While I was born in the United States, my family has deep roots in Gujarat, a western state of India. They first immigrated to Panama, Central America, with little to their name and thrived there. However, recreating their traditional Indian cuisine posed challenges initially due to the unavailability of spices and ingredients from India. They had to adapt by using local ingredients and blending them with what they brought from India, resulting in a unique fusion of flavors.

Having experienced both coasts, I have always been passionate about merging cultures ever since I started cooking with my mother at the age of six. I sincerely hope you will give my style of food a try—a truly unique blend of flavors, encompassing the essence of the East with a touch of the West.
